Before our team crawled out of bed this morning, the mediano boys were up and sweeping the sidewalks of the City of Children. They work hard and are an example to all of us. We come here to teach but we always walk away with more than we've given.

It is so wonderful to have this blog to keep up with the group and all of your daily experiences. Praying for you all to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus this week as you reach out to all of those in The City of Children. May you bless and be blessed each and every moment. from Kip's Mom

I’m extremely grateful that everyone made it safely down to the City of Children! (With much thanks to David Garman and his great green button guessing ability) It's definitely a blessing to be able to come on here and keep up with the group's Mexico Trip! It's a great thing to be able to log onto the computer, come to this page, and see all the wonderful things our Youth Group has done that day to not only represent our church and it's family, but also to represent our Almighty God and all fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
ReplyDeleteThough only two days into this mission trip, it is very apparent that every teen down there is there to truly serve and do God's work. It's been truly incredible as a teen myself to look and see 60+ other teens taking time during the summer to travel over 1,751 miles from home to do God's work in helping others in the City of Children. To look and see the dedication put in by each teen in time and effort spent in preparing for this week, things like learning verses, learning the names and faces of every child that lives down there, and working several fundraisers to make it a reality. It is just a great inspiration and comfort to look and know that these dedicated followers of Christ are the ones I have standing beside me, bringing others into the Kingdom of Heaven. In 1 Peter 4:10 it says, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." Each teen down there has a gift given specifically to them by God, which he intended for us to use in the spreading of his word through examples, words, and helping others. This mission trip is such an amazing opportunity for everyone involved to not only directly help those there in the City of Children, but also to serve as an example to those of us back home to look deep within ourselves and find our own gifts and to do just as these teens and the second part of this verse tells us, "...to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
As this mission trip continues throughout the week, I pray for the safety of each teen and adult that has traveled down to Ensenada, Mexico for the sole purpose of serving our God. I pray that God helps make this a lasting experience, one that will serve as a foundation to further evangelize and expand his Kingdom in Heaven. I pray for a safe return when the time comes. Most of all, I pray that every child down there sees each of you as an example, someone that they can strive to be like. Someone who loves God and wants nothing more than to be a steward of his grace. I love you all, I thank you for representing God in such an incredible way, and may God bless you in the remainder of your work this week.
